Infratil entities acquire 9.5% stake in Contact Energy

Infratil Limited and Infratil Investments have each acquired 93,278,396 ordinary shares in Contact Energy, representing 9.467% of the company for each entity.

The substantial holding arose from Contact Energy's acquisition of all shares in Manawa Energy Limited through a scheme of arrangement. Infratil Investments held 159,997,249 Manawa shares and received USD 1.12 in cash plus 0.5830 new Contact shares for each Manawa share held.

Infratil Investments is a subsidiary of Infratil Limited and serves as both the registered holder and beneficial owner of the Contact Energy shares.
