Air New Zealand acquires 1.36m shares in buyback

Air New Zealand (NZX:AIR) announced today the acquisition of 1,361,013 ordinary shares, comprising 666,791 shares acquired on both the NZX and ASX and 694,222 shares acquired off-market from the Sovereign in right of New Zealand, acting through the Minister of Finance. The on-market transactions on the NZX were executed at an average price of NZD 0.5925 per share, while ASX trades averaged AUD 0.5502. The off-market purchase from the Crown was priced at NZD 0.5926 per share. These acquisitions, authorized under a Board resolution dated February 20, 2025, and in compliance with NZX Listing Rules, represent 0.0410% of the company’s total financial products, excluding treasury stock. The shares will be cancelled and not held as treasury stock. Post-acquisition, Air New Zealand will have 3,316,548,707 ordinary shares with 93 shares held as treasury stock. Settlement and cancellation of shares acquired on NZX and ASX are scheduled for June 16, 2025, with Crown share settlement and cancellation on June 17, 2025.
