Air New Zealand acquires 1.33m shares through buyback

Air New Zealand (NZX:AIR) announced today that it has acquired 1,332,362 ordinary shares as part of its ongoing share buyback program. The acquisition includes 652,754 shares purchased on the NZX and ASX, and 679,608 shares acquired off-market from the Sovereign in right of New Zealand, acting through the Minister of Finance. The average price paid was NZD 0.6004 for shares on the NZX and AUD 0.5549 for shares on the ASX. The off-market acquisition from the Crown was executed at NZD 0.6001 per share. The buyback, approved by the Board, was announced on February 20, 2025, and the shares will be cancelled, reducing the total outstanding shares to 3,323,374,827, with 93 shares held as treasury stock. The shares acquired on NZX and ASX will be settled and cancelled on June 4, 2025, while shares acquired off-market from the Crown will be settled and cancelled on June 5, 2025.
