Jubilant Pharmova subsidiary faces GST demand and penalty

Jubilant Generics Limited, a subsidiary of Jubilant Pharmova Limited, has been issued a refund rejection order by the Assistant Commissioner Central GST Division, Roorkee, dated December 26, 2025. The order confirms a demand for an erroneously sanctioned provisional refund amount, along with an applicable penalty and interest. The total GST demand amounts to Rs.1,56,82,657, with an additional penalty of Rs.15,68,266, resulting in a total claim of Rs.1,72,50,923.

The issue stems from an alleged incorrect calculation that led to the erroneously sanctioned refund. Jubilant Pharmova believes the demand is legally incorrect and plans to file an appeal before the commissioner (appeals), asserting a strong case supported by documentary evidence.

The company states there will be no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities due to this demand.
