HCL Infosystems faces ₹0.32 crore GST demand over alleged short payment

HCL Infosystems Limited announced on December 27, 2025, the receipt of a GST demand order totaling ₹0.32 crores. The order, issued by the assistant commissioner, Central Goods & Services Tax, Chennai, alleges the generation of multiple E-Waybills using the same invoices, resulting in a short payment of tax for the financial year 2018-19.

The order confirms a tax demand of ₹0.32 crores, along with interest and an equivalent penalty of ₹0.32 crores under the CGST Act, 2017. The company disputes the demand, stating it has discharged applicable tax liabilities and has strong grounds on merits, as well as on legal and procedural aspects.

HCL Infosystems is currently evaluating its legal options and does not anticipate any material adverse impact on its financial position or operations at this stage.
