Laxmi Organic affirms Lote facility compliance amid media reports

Laxmi Organic Industries Limited (LOIL) today affirmed that its Lote facility operates in full compliance with Indian environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, having secured all statutory approvals since its inception. The company stated that all process emissions and effluents are scientifically treated and disposed of at a state government approved facility, with no discharge of hazardous effluents into the environment from the Lote facility.

The company addressed media reports comparing its Lote operations to those of Miteni S.p.A, deeming them inaccurate and misleading. LOIL highlighted key differences in effluent treatment, disposal practices, and and product portfolios, noting the Miteni incident involved direct wastewater discharge into rivers over decades, unlike LOIL's adherence to India's stringent regulatory framework.

LOIL's Lote manufacturing facility employs closed-loop systems to prevent harmful substance releases. Hazardous waste and effluents are sent to a state government approved common hazardous waste treatment storage disposal facility for scientific disposal, including incineration. The facility produces fluorinated and non-fluorinated products essential for various industries.
