Great Eastern Shipping shuffles fleet with sale of gas carrier, new purchases

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) has contracted to sell its 2002-built Very Large Gas Carrier, "Jag Vishnu," with a capacity of approximately 77,922 cbm. The sale was made to an unaffiliated third party on December 26, 2025, with delivery to the new buyer expected in Q4 FY26.

Following this sale, the company's owned fleet will comprise 39 vessels, including 25 Tankers (5 Crude, 16 Product, 4 LPG Carriers) and 14 Dry Bulk Carriers (2 Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, 2 Supramax), totaling 3.17 Mn dwt.

In additional fleet adjustments, G E Shipping has contracted to purchase one secondhand Very Large Gas Carrier and one secondhand Ultramax Dry Bulk Carrier. Concurrently, the company will sell one Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier, "Jag Aarati." These purchase and sale transactions are also anticipated to be completed in Q4 FY26.
