Dilip Buildcon wins major Karnataka power project

Dilip Buildcon Limited has been named the L-1 bidder by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) for establishing a 400 kV sub-station at Mekhali, Belagavi District, Karnataka, along with associated transmission lines. The project, awarded for a period of 35 years from the commercial operation date (COD), involves the establishment of a 400/220/33 kV AIS sub-station and associated 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines, to be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.

The scope of work encompasses development, financing, design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the transmission assets. Construction and commissioning are targeted for completion within 24 months from the effective date. The EPC value for Dilip Buildcon, excluding GST, is stated at INR 1850 Cr.

This project is a domestic award, with RECPDCL acting as the bid process coordinator on behalf of the Government of Karnataka. Dilip Buildcon will acquire 100% equity of the project SPV and serve as the transmission service provider for the intra-state transmission system. The company has confirmed that the transaction does not involve related party transactions.
