Colgate-Palmolive (India) faces ₹267.64 crore tax demand

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited today disclosed it has received an assessment order from the Income Tax Department, dated December 24, 2025. The order, issued under sections 143(3) r.w.s 144C(13) read with section 144(B) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (ITA), includes a demand of ₹267.64 crore under section 156 of the ITA for the financial year 2021-22 (AY 2022-23).

The demand primarily stems from transfer pricing adjustments and the disallowance of certain expenses. Despite the significant demand, the company stated that there is no expected financial impact on its financials, operations, or any other activities due to this order.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited intends to appeal the assessment order before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. The assessment order was received on the evening of December 24, 2025.
