REC forms new power transmission subsidiary, Apta Power Transmission Limited

REC Limited, through its wholly-owned subsidiary REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), has incorporated a new company named Apta Power Transmission Limited on December 24, 2025. This new entity will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of RECPDCL and, consequently, a subsidiary of REC Limited. Apta Power Transmission Limited has an authorized capital of ₹5,00,000 and a paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000, fully subscribed in cash by RECPDCL.

The primary objective of Apta Power Transmission Limited is the establishment of a 765/400/220kV AIS Apta (Dist. Raigad) project. This incorporation follows an order dated October 3, 2025, from the Government of Maharashtra, which allocated an intra-state transmission project and appointed RECPDCL as the bid process coordinator for bidder selection. Once a successful bidder is chosen through the tariff based competitive bidding guidelines, Apta Power Transmission Limited, along with its assets and liabilities, will be transferred to that bidder.
