NIIT faces ₹1.81 crore GST demand over credit discrepancy

NIIT Limited announced it has received a GST demand order from the deputy commissioner of state tax, Nodal-06, Mumbai. The order, dated December 24, 2025, is for an aggregate amount of ₹1.81 crore, including a tax demand of ₹0.94 crore, interest of ₹0.78 crore, and a penalty of ₹0.09 crore.

The demand pertains to the financial year 2021-22 and primarily stems from a disallowance due to differences in GST credit appearing in GSTR-3B versus GSTR-2A.

NIIT Limited stated that, based on its assessment, the demand is not maintainable. The company is currently evaluating all available options, including the possibility of filing an appeal against the order. NIIT does not anticipate any material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities as a result of this demand.
