Zydus Lifesciences extends Sterling Biotech API business acquisition deadline again

Zydus Lifesciences Limited, in a December 24, 2025, announcement, informed stock exchanges about a further extension to the closing date for its acquisition of the API business from Sterling Biotech Limited (SBL). The transaction was initially expected to close by December 31, 2024, and was previously extended to December 31, 2025.

The latest update confirms that both Zydus Lifesciences and SBL have agreed to extend the closing date to June 30, 2026. This extension is due to SBL still being in the process of completing certain conditions precedent outlined in the Business Transfer Agreement (BTA).

The acquisition of the "Target Business" from SBL by Zydus Lifesciences remains subject to these outstanding conditions and closing date adjustments as specified in the BTA. The company anticipates the transaction will now be completed on or before the new June 30, 2026 deadline.
