Pfizer receives GST demand, plans appeal

Pfizer Limited announced on December 24, 2025, that it has received an order from the Office of the Joint Commissioner Jurisdiction: Corporate Circle, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for a GST demand related to the financial year 2021-22. The order, issued on December 23, 2025, includes a tax demand of Rs. 1,15,33,764/- and a penalty of Rs. 11,53,377/-, totaling Rs. 1,26,87,141/- plus applicable interest. This demand stems from the denial of Input Tax Credit availed by the company, with authorities alleging insufficient details were provided.

Based on its internal assessment, Pfizer Limited believes the demand is not maintainable and is in the process of filing an appeal against the order. The company has stated that this order is not expected to have a material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities.

The company's director of corporate services & company secretary, Prajeet Nair, signed off on the intimation, which was sent to both BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.
