BHEL to appeal GST demand order from Gujarat authorities

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced on December 24, 2025, that it has received a demand order from the GST Authorities, Gujarat. The order, issued by the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax (2), Enforcement, Division - 5, Gujarat, relates to a dispute concerning input tax credit availment and utilization for the period 2018-19.

The order demands INR 12,94,982 for the disputed input tax credit, along with consequential interest of INR 16,85,322 and a penalty of INR 12,94,982. BHEL stated that there is no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities due to this intimation.

The company has confirmed that the order is currently appealable and is evaluating the order for filing an appeal. This disclosure was made in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
