Sarda Energy & Minerals reports power plant accident, fatality, filing delay

Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd. reported an accident at its captive power plant in Siltara, Raipur, on the evening of December 20, 2025, due to a steam pipeline leakage. The incident resulted in one fatality and one serious injury. The company stated that the leakage was swiftly brought under control, and emergency procedures operated as designed, though the cause of the leakage is yet to be ascertained.

The company also provided an update regarding the delay in filing the intimation of the accident. The delay was attributed to the late receipt of information by the compliance officer, as the field team was occupied with managing the emergency, and due to an intervening holiday on December 21, 2025. Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd. stated that the delay was unintentional and requested condonation from the regulatory authorities.

The announcement was made to both BSE Ltd. and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. on December 23, 2025. The company included a copy of the initial submission regarding the accident with its update.
