HCLSoftware to acquire Jaspersoft for $240m, boosting data and AI

HCLSoftware, the software business division of HCLTech, is set to acquire Jaspersoft, a business unit of Cloud Software Group and a leading provider of embedded analytics and pixel-perfect reporting platforms. The acquisition, valued at $240m in an all-cash consideration, is expected to close within six months, pending regulatory approvals, including from CFIUS. This deal is structured as an asset carve-out rather than a share purchase.

This acquisition will bolster HCLSoftware’s Data & AI division (Actian) by integrating Jaspersoft’s business intelligence and reporting platform, which includes interactive dashboards and advanced visualizations. This will enable Actian to address the increasing demand for metadata management, data catalog, and data governance solutions, enriching its end-to-end data management experience. Approximately 115 Jaspersoft employees globally will transfer to HCLSoftware.

The integration of Jaspersoft's capabilities will allow HCLSoftware to offer seamless AI-powered embedded analytics, supporting high-volume pixel-perfect reports and interactive dashboards. This strategic move aims to accelerate Actian's Agentic Business Intelligence roadmap for customers, providing scalable self-service business intelligence.
