Central Bank of India appoints Kavita Thakur as chief compliance officer

The Central Bank of India has announced the appointment of Mrs. Kavita Thakur as its new general manager, compliance department, and chief compliance officer (CCO) & key managerial personnel, effective December 20, 2025. Mrs. Thakur replaces Mr. Joy Mukherjee in this role.

Mrs. Thakur, aged 55, joined the bank in 1990 and brings over 35 years of banking experience. She holds master's degrees in arts (economics) and business administration (banking and finance), and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). Her qualifications also include a certificate course on resolution of stressed assets with a special emphasis on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Before this appointment, Mrs. Thakur served as the zonal head of the Ahmedabad Zonal Office. Her extensive experience and qualifications are expected to bolster the bank's compliance framework. Her appointment establishes no relationship with other directors.
