Refex Industries to appeal ₹54.3 lakh tax demand

Refex Industries Limited announced on December 19, 2025, that it has received an order from the deputy commissioner, State Tax, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, for the financial year 2018-19. The order demands a total of ₹54,32,943, comprising ₹16,88,866 in tax, ₹20,55,211 in interest, and ₹16,88,866 in penalty. This demand stems from alleged availment of inadmissible input tax credit, following the cancellation of a supplier's registration.

The company believes the demand is not maintainable and is in the process of preparing an appeal against the order. Refex Industries stated that the order has no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities.

The order was issued under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017.
