REC Limited forms subsidiary for Maharashtra power transmission project

REC Limited announced the incorporation of Balsane Power Transmission Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), making it a subsidiary of REC Limited. The new entity, incorporated on December 18, 2025, has an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000. It will focus on establishing a 765/400/220kV AIS Balsane (Dist. Dhule) transmission project.

RECPDCL has been appointed by the Government of Maharashtra as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for this intra-state transmission project, as per an order dated October 3, 2025. Balsane Power Transmission Limited, currently without turnover, will be transferred to the successful bidder after the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, along with all its assets and liabilities.

REC Limited acquired 100% of the equity share capital of Balsane Power Transmission Limited in cash at face value. This incorporation aligns with RECPDCL's role in facilitating transmission service provider selection through TBCB for various power transmission projects.
