Finolex Cables hit with tax demand over packing material GST

Finolex Cables Limited announced on December 19, 2025, that it has received an "Order-in-Original" dated December 18, 2025, from the Office of the Superintendent of CGST, Range-IV, Division-IV CGST Goa. The order relates to a confirmed demand for GST on the supply of returnable packing material to another unit, which the company allegedly did not charge.

The tax demand amounts to INR 1,221,264, comprising INR 610,632 in tax and an equal amount in penalty. Finolex Cables stated that this amount is not expected to have a major impact on the company's operations. The company has the option to file an appeal before the Appellate Authority regarding this order.
