POWERGRID’s Khavda II-B project fully operational, bolsters renewable energy grid

POWERGRID Khavda II-B Transmission Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., has announced the complete commissioning of its transmission project. The project, designed for the evacuation of 4.5 GW renewable energy injection at Khavda PS under Phase-II, Part-B, achieved full commercial operation on December 13, 2025. This milestone was officially confirmed with the receipt of the notification for commercial operation via email on December 18, 2025.

The transmission scheme was secured through a tariff based competitive bidding process, mandating the implementation of an Inter-State Transmission System. This successful commissioning underscores POWERGRID's role in strengthening India's power infrastructure and facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid.

The announcement was made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended, to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited. Satyaprakash Dash, company secretary & compliance officer, signed the communication on December 18, 2025.
