Apollo Micro Systems subsidiary secures license for industrial explosives manufacturing

Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) announced on December 18, 2025, that its subsidiary, IDL Explosives Limited, has secured an industrial license under the IDR Act, 1951. This license, granted on January 24, 2023, authorizes the manufacture of HMX Cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine and Trinitrotoluene (TNT). The license is valid for 15 years from its issuance date.

The granted capacity for manufacturing HMX Cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine is 50 MTPA, while Trinitrotoluene (TNT) is set at 500 MTPA. Manufacturing operations will be conducted in Mouza San Sunaparbat, Odisha.

Karunakar Reddy, managing director of Apollo Micro Systems Limited, stated that this license is a strategic milestone, allowing the company to meet the demands for both industrial and defense explosives. He emphasized that it validates their technical expertise and operational excellence, strengthening their ability to fulfill captive requirements and tap into growing domestic and international markets.
