Dabur India appeal against CGST tax demand dismissed

Dabur India Limited announced on December 17, 2025, an update regarding a tax demand from the Joint Commissioner, CGST, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The original demand, disclosed on February 5, 2025, amounts to INR 23,06,67,809, along with an equal penalty and interest. This demand pertains to product valuation in multiple states for financial years 2017-18 to 2022-23.

The company had filed an appeal with the Commissioner of Appeals, CGST, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Dabur India has now received an order dismissing its appeal in the matter. The order was received on December 16, 2025.

Dabur India stated it would pursue further steps under applicable laws, including filing an appeal with the Tribunal. Despite the setback, the company maintains that the financial implication is unlikely to impact its operations or other activities, with any final tax liability expected to be limited to what is ascertained by higher appellate authorities.
