Cyient Semiconductors acquires Kinetic Technologies, boosts power IC leadership

Cyient Semiconductors has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Kinetic Technologies for up to $93m, a move aimed at enhancing its leadership in custom power ICs for Edge AI and high-performance compute markets. The transaction, expected to close by April 30, 2026, marks a significant step in establishing India's first ASIC-led custom power semiconductor powerhouse. Kinetic Technologies, incorporated in 2006, specializes in power management, high-performance analog, and mixed-signal ICs.

The acquisition, approved by Cyient Limited's Board of Directors on December 17, 2025, involves Cyient Semiconductors Singapore Pte. Ltd. acquiring over 65% of Kinetic Technologies. This strategic combination leverages Kinetic's proprietary technologies and 100+ patents with Cyient Semiconductors' design capabilities, targeting the $40bn+ power semiconductor market across data centers, electrification, automotive, and industrial automation.
