Crompton Greaves to appeal $1.47 crore tax demand

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited announced on December 17, 2025, that it has received an order from the assistant commissioner, Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, demanding INR 1,47,47,140. This demand covers the period from April 2021 to March 2022 and comprises INR 83,35,439 in tax, INR 55,78,135 in interest, and INR 8,33,546 in penalty. The company received the order on December 16, 2025.

The demand stems from alleged excess Input Tax Credit (ITC) claimed in GSTR 3B compared to GSTR 2A during the specified period. Based on the merits of the case and consultant advice, Crompton Greaves plans to appeal the order before the commissioner (appeals) and anticipates a favorable outcome.

The company's management stated that while the potential financial impact is INR 1,47,47,140, there is no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities. This disclosure was made in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
