Sarveshwar Foods wins approval for Basmati cluster project

Sarveshwar Foods Limited has received in-principle approval from the Jammu & Kashmir Horticulture Produce Marketing & Processing Corporation (JKHPMC) for an Integrated Basmati Cluster Development Project. Approved under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), the project carries a total investment outlay of ₹197.29 crore and aims to develop Basmati production across the RS Pora, Samba, and Kathua districts.

The investment will be funded through a mix of equity, term loans, and HADP financial assistance, targeting large-scale infrastructure creation. Key allocations include ₹71.14 crore for pre-production and production systems, ₹57.59 crore for post-harvest management and value addition, ₹12.74 crore for logistics, branding and marketing, and ₹55.83 crore for other project-related infrastructure.

This initiative is expected to directly benefit farmers by increasing yields, reducing production costs, and improving access to national and export markets. The program also plans large-scale seed distribution across 91,254 hectares for Basmati (B370), 36,623 hectares for CSR 30, and 52,229 hectares for PB 1121/PB 1501 and other premium varieties.
