Saregama acquires Bhansali Productions, boosting media presence

Saregama India Limited's board of directors approved the acquisition of Bhansali Productions Private Limited (BPPL) on December 16, 2025. The transaction involves Saregama subscribing to 9,960 compulsory convertible preference shares (CCPS) in BPPL for a consideration of INR 325 crores.

BPPL, incorporated on May 8, 2003, is engaged in media and entertainment, including content creation, production, and distribution. The acquisition aims to strengthen Saregama's position in the video segment and consolidate its market leadership in music licensing by gaining access to new music content through BPPL's rights.

Saregama's shareholding in BPPL will range between 28% to 49.9% upon conversion of CCPS by February 14, 2026, and could increase to 51% on a fully diluted basis by March 2030, pending the exercise of options. BPPL's turnover for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, was INR 304 crores.
