Tata Power targets 30 GW capacity by FY30, with big clean energy push

Tata Power announced a significant capacity expansion target, aiming for over 30 GW of total operational capacity by FY30, with over 20 GW being clean and green energy. This represents a substantial increase from the 15.7 GW total capacity and 7.1 GW clean and green capacity achieved in FY25. The company expects revenue to increase from ₹64,502 in FY25 to ₹1,00,000 by FY30E, EBITDA to grow from ₹14,468 to ₹30,000, and PAT to rise from ₹5,197 to ₹10,000 in the same period.

The company anticipates capital expenditure of approximately ₹1,25,000 crore between FY26 and FY30, with about 65% allocated to Clean & Green projects, including renewables (53%) and PSP (11%). Tata Power also highlighted its strong pipeline of Hybrid/FDRE projects, including SJVN 460MW FDRE and NTPC 200MW FDRE, and strategic expansion in Bhutan with 1.7 GW hydropower plants under development.

In its distribution business, Tata Power serves 12.8 million customers, with plans to expand to approximately 40 million by FY30. The company reported improved AT&C losses across its Odisha Discoms and strong financial performance in its Mumbai and Delhi Distribution businesses. Tata Power also emphasized its commitment to sustainability, aiming for Net Zero by 2045 and 100% Clean & Green power generation by 2045.
