Voltas receives significant reduction in tax demand

Voltas Limited disclosed today that a tax demand of ₹31.77 crores, previously issued by the Commissionerate Indore for alleged wrongful input tax credit and non-payment of GST for financial years 2018-19 to 2020-21, has been significantly reduced. Following detailed submissions and explanations by the company, the Commissionerate’s order dated December 12, 2025, lowered the demand to just ₹0.14 lakhs, inclusive of applicable interest and penalty.

The original intimation regarding the Show Cause Notice was made by Voltas on July 1, 2025. The company is currently evaluating the latest order to determine its next course of action.

This update was formally communicated to both BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited, fulfilling disclosure requirements under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
