Dr. Reddy's commits to net zero by 2045 with new SBTi targets

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. announced new science-based Net Zero climate targets, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by FY2045. This commitment includes near-term targets to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 80% and Scope 3 emissions by 51.6% per INR value added by FY2030, using FY2023 as the base year. The long-term goal extends to a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by FY2045 from the same baseline.

The company has revised its earlier October 2020 SBTi targets to align with the latest SBTi Framework, reflecting continued progress and commitment to sustainability. Sanjay Sharma, global head operations and chief human resources officer, highlighted Dr. Reddy's proactive approach, noting the company is on track for coal- and furnace oil-free operations by FY'26 and aims for 68% of its power to be sourced from renewables in FY'25.

In a related development, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories will engage with investors at a B&K Securities-organized event in Hyderabad on December 17, 2025. The in-person group meeting, scheduled from 10:30 to 11:30 IST, will allow the company's management to discuss its performance and strategic initiatives with single institution(s)/investor groups.
