GAIL fined ₹143 crore for GST violation on corporate guarantees

GAIL (India) Limited has received an order from the additional commissioner, CGST, Delhi South Commissionerate, demanding GST on corporate guarantees issued to banks on behalf of its subsidiaries and joint ventures. The company confirmed receipt of this order on December 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

The violation stems from the non-payment of GST on corporate guarantees, which were provided without consideration. This regulatory action has resulted in a monetary penalty of INR 143,08,40,592.

The disclosure, made by company secretary Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, is in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
