Sasken Technologies faces INR 45.29 crore GST demand after appeal dismissals

Sasken Technologies disclosed that two appeals against GST demands for fiscal years 2017-18 and 2018-19 have been dismissed by the Joint Commissioner Appeals-5 in Bengaluru. The company announced on December 6, 2025, that these orders, received on December 5, 2025, confirm demands totaling approximately INR 45.29 crore. This includes INR 20,75,25,744 for FY17-18 and INR 24,53,94,017 for FY18-19.

For FY 2017-18, the demand includes GST of INR 9,25,77,483, interest of INR 10,56,90,513, and a penalty of INR 92,57,748, related to GST payable under reverse charge on payments to overseas branches. For FY 2018-19, the demand comprises GST of INR 11,39,66,780, interest of INR 12,00,30,558, and a penalty of INR 1,13,96,679, concerning GST payable under reverse charge on payments to overseas branches and mismatches between 2A and 3B.

Despite the dismissals, Sasken Technologies stated there is no material impact on its financial, operational, or other activities, as these orders are currently appealable. The company intends to appeal before the GSTAT (Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal).
