Ashiana Housing faces tax demand over 2013-14 withholding

Ashiana Housing Ltd. disclosed on December 6, 2025, that it has received a demand from the Income Tax Department, Delhi, amounting to ₹5,24,881. This demand, including interest, is under sections 201(1)/201(1A) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The issue stems from the non-deduction and non-deposit of TDS under Section 194-I on annual lease rentals paid to UIT (Bhiwadi) for the financial year 2013-14.

The demand order, issued by TDS Ward 73(2), Delhi, was dated November 25, 2025, and received by the company on December 5, 2025. Ashiana Housing stated that it is currently exploring legal avenues to contest this order.

Despite the demand, the company does not anticipate a significant impact on its financial or operational performance. Ashiana Housing noted that it is reviewing and reconciling its records regarding the monetary implications.
