NTPC Green Energy forms joint venture for Chhattisgarh renewable projects

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, announced the incorporation of a new subsidiary and joint venture company, "Chhattisgarh NTPC Green Energy Limited," on December 5, 2025. This new entity is a joint venture with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL), with NGEL holding a 74% share and CSPGCL holding 26%.

The newly formed company will operate in the renewable energy sector, with an objective to develop, operate, and maintain renewable energy parks, including projects in Chhattisgarh or other identified locations. These projects will encompass solar, wind, and hybrid capacities of up to 2 GW, alongside the development of floating solar projects on reservoirs.

NGEL subscribed to 74,000 equity shares in Chhattisgarh NTPC Green Energy Limited at a face value of ₹10 each, totaling a 74% shareholding. The incorporation received concurrence from DIPAM on April 23, 2025.
