Motherson, Adani Ports partner for advanced RoRo terminal at Dighi Port

Motherson, through its joint venture Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics Limited (SAMRX), has partnered with Dighi Port Limited (DPL), a subsidiary of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), to establish a dedicated Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) terminal in Maharashtra. This facility aims to handle end-to-end finished vehicle (FV) logistics, leveraging its prime location on India's west coast with strong multimodal connectivity for both export and import operations.

SAMRX plans to invest in the terminal in phases, targeting an annual handling capacity of approximately 200,000 cars, with potential for further expansion. The terminal will offer comprehensive end-to-end logistics solutions, including yard management, AI-based Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) technologies, EV charging infrastructure, customs clearance, and stevedoring, ensuring 360-degree cargo visibility.

This collaboration is set to address the increasing demand for efficient and reliable finished vehicle import and export logistics, strengthening Motherson's support for the automotive sector. APSEZ, India's largest integrated ports and logistics company, reinforces its nationwide footprint and enhances cargo handling efficiency through this strategic development at Dighi Port.
