ICICI Pru MF increases stake in LIC Housing Finance above 5%

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, through its various schemes, has disclosed a substantial acquisition of shares in LIC Housing Finance Ltd. On December 2, 2025, the fund acquired 1,295,540 equity shares of LIC Housing Finance Ltd via the secondary market, causing the fund's total shareholding to exceed 5% of the company's paid-up capital.

Prior to the acquisition, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund held 27,411,303 shares, representing 4.98% of the total shares/voting capital. Following the acquisition, the fund's holding increased to 28,706,843 shares, or 5.22% of the total shares/voting capital. The acquisition itself represented 0.24% of the total shares/voting capital.

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund stated that its holding is for investment purposes and not with the objective of seeking any controlling interest. The total equity share capital of LIC Housing Finance Ltd before and after the acquisition remains ₹1,10,01,26,000, comprising 55,00,63,000 shares of face value ₹2/- each.
