Filatex India wins key GST litigation, quashing notices totaling over 166 crores

Filatex India Limited announced today that the Gujarat High Court quashed two show cause notices related to GST refund claims, offering a significant legal victory for the company.

The first notice, issued on June 14, 2023, by the joint commissioner of CGST & Central Excise, Vadodara, sought to recover GST refund claims of INR 74.59 crores for the period January 2018 to October 2019, alleging erroneous refunds. The Gujarat High Court had initially stayed this matter on August 4, 2023.

A second show cause notice, dated September 21, 2023, from the joint commissioner CGST, sought to recover sanctioned GST refunds of INR 92.20 crores for the period November 2019 to February 2022. Filatex India had also filed a writ petition against this notice on October 5, 2023, and secured an interim stay.

The Gujarat High Court's judgment on November 28, 2025, quashed and set aside both show cause notices. Filatex India confirmed receiving certified copies of this judgment on December 4, 2025.
