Jindal Stainless ranks top globally for sustainability in steel sector

Jindal Stainless announced it has achieved an ESG score of 78 in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) for FY25, placing it among the top 5% of global steel companies. This score ranks the company fourth in the steel sector and first in the stainless steel sector worldwide, a substantial increase from 60 in FY24. The company's environmental, social, and governance scores are 83, 73, and 76, respectively, significantly exceeding industry averages.

The company's strong performance is underscored by a 97% data availability rate and a perfect score of 100 in transparency and reporting. Jindal Stainless was also the sole recipient of the Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability in FY25 within the steel sector. In FY25, the company reduced its GHG emissions by 14% year-on-year through strategic investments in decarbonization, including Odisha's largest captive solar plant and energy-efficiency upgrades.

Jindal Stainless reported an annual turnover of INR 40,182 crore in FY25, with plans to increase annual melt capacity to 4.2 million tonnes by FY27. The company's integrated operations, which include manufacturing stainless steel using electric arc furnaces, contribute to its cost competitiveness and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
