Indian overseas bank appoints Venkataramanan as shareholder director

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has announced the appointment of G. Venkataramanan as a shareholder director, effective December 3, 2025. This appointment follows the completion of Sanjaya Rastogi's three-year tenure, which concluded on December 2, 2025. Venkataramanan will serve for a period of three years, with his term ending on December 2, 2028.

Venkataramanan brings over 35 years of experience, primarily in the life insurance sector. He joined LIC in 1989 and held various key positions, including head of marketing and customer relationship management for the South Zone. He superannuated from the Life Insurance Corporation of India on July 31, 2025, as zonal manager in-charge of the South Zone, Chennai, holding the rank of executive director.

He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and is an associate of the Insurance Institute of India. IOB confirmed that Venkataramanan is not related to any other director of the bank and is not debarred from holding the office by any SEBI order or other authority.
