Websol partners with Linton to boost Indian solar PV manufacturing

Websol Energy System Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Linton Crystal Technologies to explore the manufacturing of photovoltaic (PV) ingots and wafers in India. Websol intends to acquire PV ingot and wafer manufacturing equipment from Linton, a global leader in PV ingot and wafer equipment technology.

The partnership involves Linton extending technical expertise, including training and skills development for Websol's team, to optimize equipment operations and processes. This initiative aims to reduce India's dependence on key raw material imports and enhance Websol's technology base in solar manufacturing.

Websol, a leading manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells and modules, currently operates with a solar cell capacity of 1,200 MW and a module capacity of 550 MW. This collaboration is part of Websol's strategic journey to build India's fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem, aligning with the country's energy security and sustainability goals.
