Alkem Labs details strong sustainability, governance performance

Alkem Laboratories reported total revenue of INR 106,249.33 million for FY 2024-25. The company achieved a 15% reduction in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions per tonne of product and a 5.73% reduction in energy consumption per tonne of product compared to FY 2023-24. Additionally, 21% of total energy was sourced from renewables, and INR 20.8 million was invested in energy-efficiency initiatives. The company successfully recycled 3,961 metric tonnes of post-consumer plastic packaging waste, covering 100% of domestic product sales.

On the social front, Alkem Laboratories maintained zero fatalities and achieved a 100% resolution rate for whistleblower complaints in FY 2024-25. The total permanent employees and workers numbered 18,785, with women constituting 2.69% of the permanent workforce. The company spent INR 359.1 million on CSR projects, benefiting 872,377 individuals.

Regarding governance, Alkem Laboratories reported zero instances of data breaches and 50% independent directors on its board, with women representing 23% of the board. The company aims to increase overall gender diversity to 5% by FY 2026-27 and screen 90% of new suppliers based on ESG criteria by FY 2027-28. The firm also committed to achieving water neutrality across operations by FY 2030 and a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by FY 2032-33 from its FY 2022-23 baseline.
