Ramakrishnan Chander appointed managing director of LIC

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) announced on December 1, 2025, the appointment of Ramakrishnan Chander as its new managing director. This appointment is effective immediately upon his assumption of charge and will continue until his superannuation on September 30, 2027, or until further orders. His new role comes with a pay scale of INR 205,400 to INR 224,400.

Chander joined the corporation in 1990 as an assistant administrative officer and has 35 years of experience in both marketing and administration. Prior to this appointment, he served as the executive director (investment – front office) & chief investment officer and key managerial personnel (KMP) of LIC.

As managing director, Chander will no longer hold his previous positions as executive director (investment – front office) & chief investment officer. The corporation confirmed that Chander is not related to any other directors of LIC.
