Manappuram Finance names Sanjay Nambiar as group general counsel

Manappuram Finance Limited announced the appointment of Sanjay Gangadharan Nambiar as the group general counsel and a senior management personnel, effective December 1, 2025. This change was communicated to the BSE Limited, National Stock Exchange of India Limited, and India International Exchange (IFSC) Ltd.

Nambiar brings 31 years of legal experience, with over 25 years specifically in the banking and financial services sector. His career includes roles at Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Limited, IDBI Ltd., and ICICI Bank Ltd., culminating in his most recent position as group general counsel at YES Bank, where he led a team of over 80 legal professionals.

Academically, Nambiar holds a B.A. (Law), LL.B., and LL.M. from the University of Calicut, and has completed the Senior Management Programme at IIM Kozhikode. His expertise spans banking regulations and corporate banking, with notable experience in managing significant legal challenges, including the reconstruction of YES Bank.
