Orient Green Power loses appeal, faces INR 6.5 crore payout

Orient Green Power Company Limited (OGPL) announced on November 28, 2025, that the Delhi High Court dismissed its appeal and upheld an arbitral award against the company. This decision relates to a dispute with S M Milkose Limited regarding biomass power projects, stemming from an MoU signed in 2008. The original arbitral award, unfavorable to OGPL, was pronounced on August 1, 2016.

The financial implications of this ruling are estimated at about INR 6.5 crore. OGPL had previously recognized a provision of INR 3.33 crore in its books. Following the court's judgment, an additional provision of INR 3.17 crore will be recognized during the current quarter.

OGPL is currently evaluating its legal options and will take appropriate steps as advised by counsel to address the impact of this decision.
