NCLT approves NTPC-MAHAGENCO resolution for Sinnar Power

NTPC Limited announced on November 28, 2025, that the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Delhi, has approved the resolution plan submitted by a consortium of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) and NTPC Limited. This plan addresses the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) of Sinnar Thermal Power Limited (STPL) under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016.

The approved resolution plan follows an earlier disclosure dated June 14, 2025, and its implementation is contingent upon the terms outlined in the plan and the NCLT's approval order. STPL operates a coal-based thermal power plant with a capacity of 1350MW located in Sinnar, Nashik, Maharashtra.

This approval represents a significant step forward for the consortium and the resolution of STPL's insolvency proceedings.
