DIC India's GST demand significantly cut to ₹4.68 lakh

DIC India Limited reported on November 26, 2025, the receipt of a final order from the joint commissioner, LTU, Corporate Division, West Bengal. This order relates to a show cause notice previously disclosed on September 13, 2025. The original demand, issued under Section 73 of the WBGST Act, 2017, totaled ₹5,54,65,222, comprising ₹3,43,76,114 in GST and ₹2,10,89,108 in interest.

Following representations, the final order has reduced the total demand to ₹4,67,740. This amount consists of ₹2,89,763 for GST, ₹1,43,857 for interest, and ₹34,120 for penalty, representing a reduction of ₹5,49,97,482 from the initial demand. The original notice alleged contraventions related to input tax credit denial due to canceled supplier registrations, unfiled GST returns by suppliers, and availed input tax credit on 'blocked credits' for the F.Y. 2021-22.

The company stated that there is no impact on its financial, operational, or other activities beyond what has been mentioned. DIC India Limited is currently reviewing the order to determine the next steps.
