Axis Bank names Anand Viswanathan as new chief risk officer

Axis Bank has announced the appointment of Anand Viswanathan as the new chief risk officer (CRO) for a period of three years, effective January 1, 2026, until December 31, 2028. He will succeed Amit Talgeri, who will cease to be the CRO upon the completion of his second term, effective December 31, 2025. Talgeri will be relieved from the bank’s services on January 18, 2026.

Anand Viswanathan currently serves as head, market & liquidity risk & ERM & model risk at Axis Bank. He brings over two decades of experience in risk management, financial markets, and structuring, having held leadership roles in both foreign and Indian banks. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Viswanathan is also a chartered accountant and company secretary, holding an FRM certification.

The change was disclosed on November 26, 2025, in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
