Bank of Maharashtra appoints Prabhat Kiran as executive director

Prabhat Kiran has been appointed as an executive director (ED) on the board of Bank of Maharashtra, effective November 24, 2025. The central government formalized this appointment through a notification dated November 24, 2025, for a period of three years from the date of his assumption of office, or until further orders.

Mr. Kiran, formerly the chief general manager at Canara Bank, brings 30 years of extensive banking experience to his new role. His career began in 1996, and he possesses broad expertise across SME, corporate lending, risk management, and international operations. He is also a certified credit professional, holding composite insurance certification and a certificate in MSME.

Mr. Kiran has confirmed he has no relationship with existing directors and is not debarred from holding the office by any regulatory authority.
