Carborundum universal announces passing of independent director P. S. Raghavan

Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI) reported the sudden demise of independent director P. S. Raghavan on November 24, 2025. Raghavan had been a non-executive, independent director since May 9, 2017, and was serving his second term, which was slated to conclude on May 8, 2027.

Following his passing, Raghavan ceases to hold his office as an independent director and his positions as chairman or member across several board committees. These included the audit committee (member), nomination and remuneration committee (chairman), corporate social responsibility committee (member), risk management committee (chairman), and stakeholders relationship committee (member).

CUMI highlighted Raghavan's invaluable experience and expertise in foreign affairs, management and administration, and business knowledge, which were instrumental in guiding the company through various challenges. The company's board of directors and employees extended their deepest sympathies to his bereaved family.
