Wonderla Chennai opens grandly, boosts tourism with major investment

Wonderla Holidays announced the grand opening of Wonderla Chennai on December 2, 2025, following an official inauguration on December 1, 2025, by chief minister M.K. Stalin. Spanning 64.30 acres with 37 acres already developed, the park represents an investment of over INR 611 crores. It will feature 43 world-class rides across high thrill, family, kids, and water categories, designed to entertain up to 6,500 visitors daily.

Ticket prices start at INR 1,489, with a 10% discount for online bookings and a 20% concession for college students. The park emphasizes a blend of futuristic innovation and ancient Tamil architecture, incorporating elements like temple-inspired designs and locally sourced materials. Key attractions include the "Tanjora" B&M Inverted Coaster and the "Spin Mill," India's tallest spinning thrill ride at 50 meters.

Wonderla Chennai will also feature 8 themed dining venues with 1,384 seats, offering regional and international cuisine. Beyond entertainment, the project is expected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, enhancing local livelihoods and tourism. It will also include a 3.75 crore-litre rainwater harvesting tank, 1,000 kW solar power installation (Phase 2), and 32,000 sq.m of green cover.
